A community where comic artists can come together, be challenged, and share the results with each other.
five easy steps.
  1. The mods will make an entry with a short, vague dialogue, and a certain number of panels.
  2. Participating artists will use the dialogue to sketch out a quick, 30-minute comic, with only whatever number of panels allowed.
  3. The artists will reply to the entry with their comics. All replies will be screened.
  4. A week later, the mods will put up all the comics in an unscreened entry, for everyone to see.
  5. Go back to step 1. Repeat.
Doing this fun and interesting exercise is the main purpose of this community, but we may throw out some other exercises along the way for anybody who wants to challenge themselves further! We encourage all artists who have a passion for comicking to participate. This isn't a competition -- it's to help keep your imagination and art skills flowing.

rules.
  • Be respectful to others.
  • Don't be overly critical. These are fun, rough sketches.
  • Refrain from making community posts. We'd like to prevent getting cluttered with entries unrelated to comic exercises. We have the right to screen or delete any unapproved posts.

frequently asked questions.
  • If you need a place to upload your comic, use tinypic.com, random-m.com or imageshack.us -- all are free one-click image hosting services.
  • You do not have to do a comic every week, but it's more fun that way.
  • Please feel free to comment on other artist's comics, whether you participated that week or not.
  • Comics can be in any format or size (comic page or comic strip, digital or natural, etc). The original size (if you need a place to start) was 6 x 9".
  • Late comics ARE accepted! Post them to the "results" comments of that week.
  • You must stick to the number of panels allowed. i.e. If the number is "3" that means no less and no more than 3 panels.
  • Making your own additions to the dialogue or rewording lines is not permitted. The challenge is sticking to what you were given and getting the most out of the dialogue with visuals! Sound effects and changing the punctuation around are allowed.
